Maltese shooters in Slovenia and Italy

Double Trap shooter William Chetcuti and Frans Pace, George Cassar and Nicky Carabott, of Trap, are currently taking part in the 2006 European Championships in Maribor, Slovenia. Chetcuti yesterday hit rounds of 43, 38 and 45 for a total of 126 from 150.

Chetcuti yesterday hit rounds of 43, 38 and 45 for a total of 126 from 150. He missed out on a place in the finals. The Trap competition, on 125 targets, will take place later on this week.

Meanwhile, another Malta Shooting Federation group of juniors is in Italy to take part in next weekend's Junior Championships at Sabbia D'Oro.

Clive Farrugia will be the only Maltese Skeet shooter in the competition. In 2005, he won the U-14 gold medal. This year he will be shooting with the U-16s.

Justin Attard, Ryan Bugeja, Kurt Cardona and Marco Micallef will compete in Trap.

The junior squad is accompanied by MSF officials Grezzju Agius and George Micallef.
