It took German photographer Uwe Ommar four years to travel the globe and capture the essence of 1,000 families and their culture into a 576-page album of humanity.

His work, entitled 1000 Families - The Family Album Of Planet Earth, can now be bought in Malta through Kooperazzjoni Internazzjonali (Kopin), a local non-profit organisation.

Mr Ommar photographed all the families against a white background and with identical lighting.

A selection of photographs from the book will be on display in a series of exhibitions in Malta next month and in October as part of the Building Unity Through Diversity campaign coordinated by Kopin.

The exhibitions will be held at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, the Mediterranean Conference Centre and the Valletta Waterfront Cruise Terminal.

For more information and to book a copy of the book one can visit kopin@maltaforum.org.
