Gilbert Agius's goal in Valletta's 5-0 win over Pietà Hotspurs earlier this month was his 150th for the Citizens' skipper in the Premier League.

With this total he is close to enter the top three of all-time scorers list in Maltese football.

Stefan Sultana leads the way with 187 goals. The late Tony Nicholl is second with 173 and Danilo Doncic third with 151 goals.

Last season, Agius set another record. On May 5, 2006, he made his 427th official appearance for Valletta FC in the match against Marsaxlokk.

He broke the club record of appearances which previously belonged to Kris Laferla (426).

Agius is now the holder of two club records - most goals scored and most matches played.
