Ibarra: Boca Juniors defender Hugo Ibarra will miss Argentina's friendly international against Brazil in London because of a leg injury. The former Monaco and Porto right-back will be replaced by Real Zaragoza's Leonardo Ponzio in the Argentine squad for Sunday's match at the Emirates Stadium.

Bayern: Bayern Munich expect to complete the signing of midfielder Mark van Bommel from Barcelona this week. Team manager Uli Hoeness said the Dutch would sign a three-year contract but added that the impending arrival would not see Owen Hargreaves leave. Hargreaves is eager to move to Man. United.

Ronaldo: Real Madrid striker Ronaldo will need another month of training before he is fully fit. "He has lost some weight and has been doing some pretty good physical training," coach Fabio Capello said. Ronaldo, whose future at Real had been questioned after Milan expressed an interest in signing him last week, underwent an operation to clean up his left knee following the World Cup.

Haan: Cameroon signed a two-year contract with coach Arie Haan and said the deal was renewable if the Dutchman proved his worth in the 2008 African Nations Cup. Haan was recruited last week to replace Portuguese coach Artur Jorge, who quit in February.

Mendes: Portsmouth's Pedro Mendes called for the right punishment for Ben Thatcher but said he would not take personal action over the nasty foul by the Man. City defender that knocked him cold in midweek. The Portugal midfielder said: "I have received a written apology from him... I just want to fully recover and move on."

Kezman: Serbia striker Mateja Kezman is poised to leave Atletico Madrid and sign for Fenerbahce. "Atletico Madrid and Fenerbahce have reached an initial agreement for the transfer of Mateja Kezman," Atletico said. Atletico said that the move was conditional on the reception of payment guarantees from the Turkish club.

Tevez: Argentina forward Carlos Tevez again failed to turn up for training with Brazilian champions Corinthians on Friday, extending his unexplained absence to five days. Tevez was last seen at the club when he played in the 1-0 win over Botafogo last Sunday. After the game, the 22-year-old, the subject of constant speculation over a possible move to Europe, said he might have played for the club for the last time.
