Plans for the opera house

I have just returned to the United States from visiting my family in Malta. I feel sad when I enter Valletta and see that nothing has been done to replace the old opera house.

So, when I read the plans for a permanent open-air performing space, I thought that finally something concrete is being proposed. It has been 60 years since the opera house was destroyed. It has been an eyesore to all the tourists and Maltese who walk past it. It is a shame that it is being used as a car park. So the new plan is more than welcome.

I have been to many open-air places such as the Hollywood Bowl and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and at the Santa Fe Opera. It would be good to visit these places, especially the one in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they have a very nice roof but is still open on both sides. I hope that the plan will come a reality soon.
