Birkirkara St Joseph triathletes Dermot Galea, Keith Galea and Nicky Farrugia will be taking part in different triathlons on the continent today.

Both Malta champion Dermot and his brother Keith will be making their debuts at the World University Championships in Lausanne. Of particular interest in this Olympic distance triathlon is the bike segment.

It is held on a course where riders will have to tackle two hills of two kilometres for eight times.

Long distance specialist Farrugia lines up for the UPC Holland Triathlon 2006, in Almere.

In his age group, he figures in a race consisting of a four-kilometre swim, a 120km cycle and a 30-kilometre run. It will be Farrugia's 14th triathlon on these distances in his career.
