Marsa parted ways with Romanian defender Filip Marius this week and replaced him with Nigerian forward Anthony Ewurum who signed for the Premier League newcomers.

Marius joined Marsa earlier this month and made his first appearance for the club in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Msida SJ. However, it seems that coach Michael Molzahn felt the team needed strengthening up front and convinced the committee to release Marius and take Ewurum on board.

Ewurum will make his debut for Marsa against St George's, his former team, tomorrow.

Before the transfer deadline Marsa are also expected to sign Matthew Camilleri. Interest in the Floriana keeper was sparked by Ivan Casha's decision to seek a working career abroad.

Haber for Belgium

Justin Haber will become the second Maltese footballer to ply his trade in Belgium after agreeing to join Excelsior Virton, of Division Two.

The Malta goalkeeper, who played in France last season and had a trial with Sheffield United this summer, has signed a one-year contract. He follows in the footsteps of Carmel Busuttil. In the 1980s, the ex-Malta skipper was on the books of Genk.
