British artists Derek and Jackie Roberts are holding a joint exhibition of their paintings, metal sculpture, mixed media work and furniture at Artbox Modern Art Gallery and Zeppi's Bay, St Joseph Square, Qala.

The exhibition, which runs until September 3, will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Tuesday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Jackie Roberts began doing art in metal after joining a group of women welders seven years ago and graduated from Edinburgh's Telford College. She uses the techniques of thermal cutting, welding, brazing, shaping, grinding, polishing and heating to make sculptures.

Her father, Derek, was inspired by the different landscapes, culture and heritage of the Maltese islands and captured these in his paintings. He held his first solo exhibition at Gallery G earlier this year.

Both artists show their work in galleries, restaurants, bars and in group exhibitions throughout Malta and Gozo and in the UK.
