Artist Vince Caruana has just returned to Malta with an MA in Visual Arts from the Libera Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, one of the most distinguished art institutions in Europe where he was classically trained in painting, sculpture, installation, environmental art, photography and video.
Mr Caruana received an award for best student - Il Migliore Allievo dell'Anno 2005 - 2006.
The Master's programme allowed him to take part in various exhibitions including the Loggia del Grano of the Uffizi Centre and the Quarter, both in Florence. He has also gained the experience of museology at The Peggy Guggenheim in Venice and at Il Museo Leonardesco di Vinci, in Leonardo's hometown.
Being reared in the shadow of his uncle, the artist Anton Caruana, Mr Caruana (born 1979) has dedicated most of his years to the arts. He studied at the School of Arts where he received tuition from various established local artists including Luciano Micallef and Anton Calleja and further enhanced his education at Scranton College of Arts, Pennsylvania, US. Currently, Mr Caruana is an art teacher at the Gozo School of Arts.
The artist will be mounting his fourth solo exhibition later this year. His website is: www.vincecaruanart.com.
