Rail services in the Channel tunnel were disrupted yesterday after a freight shuttle set off a smoke alarm, Eurotunnel said.

Thirty-four people were evacuated after a small fire on a refrigerated truck aboard a freight train triggered the alarm, but no one was injured, the company said in a statement.

The alarm went off at about 1:30 p.m. in part of the tunnel running from Britain to France.
