Neutering of strays
Over the past two years, the Stray Animals Support Group, together with Happy Paws and Yelp for Help, have been working on a neutering campaign. Together we have succeeded in neutering approximately 3,000 stray cats and dogs. The group has also been working to rehabilitate and re-home a considerable number of abandoned cats and dogs abroad.
Unfortunately, in spite of our non-stop work, this year has surprised us with an overwhelming number of abandoned kittens and puppies. This problem has nothing to do with stray cats and dogs but is being caused by irresponsible people, who for some excuse or other, refuse to neuter their pet, then proceed to unceremoniously dump the unwanted litter on someone else's doorstep.
We are currently trying to raise funds to enable us to issue more neutering vouchers. The public is encouraged to help get the situation under control by sending an SMS on 5061-7364 to make a Lm1 donation, 5061-8922 (Lm3), and 5061-9204 (Lm5).
For more information about the association call 7957-5765 or 2138-0103.
Also, our appeal for a small, second-hand van is still open. Donations may be sent to SASG, PO Box 31, St Paul's Bay. Thank you.
