On July 12 we cancelled a car insurance policy with Gasan Mamo Insurance Ltd through Galea Insurance Brokers Ltd of Floriana as we had sold our old car and bought a new one.
At the time, we co-operated and accepted that we had to pay the full premium for the new policy and wait patiently for a refund of Lm90 on the old one by post. No simple credit note exists yet for these people.
We have still not received a refund. We called the GIB office twice: the ladies did not know what was happening so they promised to call back. No phone calls back either. We have encountered this lack of attention frequently with GIB over the past two years, contrary to their recent advertising slogan: "We care about you".
At this point, GIB will not be seeing any renewals from us. Hopefully, this letter will serve two purposes: a reminder to GIB yet again that we are still waiting for a refund after more than a month, and advice for them to take real care of their clients if they want to have any.
