Joseph Spiteri's letter (August 5) regarding the lack of coeliac patients' gluten-free products at the Mosta clinic has prompted me to write about the same shameful situation at the Gzira health centre.

The items one is supposed to be given during the month either arrive late or are not made available for the patients, who have to go through the hassle of phoning several times or waiting at the clinic for hours only to be told that the gluten-free items are not yet available.

The staff at the clinic are helpful, polite and very sympathetic but their clients feel utterly frustrated. They expect good service from the Health Department and not shoddy treatment.
