International tournament at TCK

Organisers at Tennis Club Kordin, in conjunction with the Malta Tennis Federation, will host the 2006 U-14 Tennis Europe tournament between August 21 and 26.

Being a ranking tournament, the event attracts many players of various nationalities. Due to the number of entries, a qualifying round will be played next weekend.

The tournament is once again sponsored by San Michel.

Besides Malta, the players will be coming from Austria, Great Britain, Cyprus, Italy, Germany, Bosnia, Slovakia, Greece, Slovenia, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Czech Republic, Denmark and Turkey.

There will be 37 boys in the main draw and 32 in the girls' event.

Malta will have Malcolm Ferrante, Jean Paul Schembri, Omar Sudzuka, Patrick Georgiev, Matthew Booker, Nathan Bonello and Brenda Galea in the line-up.
