A 57-year-old Briton was yesterday give a 26-month jail term suspended for a year after he pleaded guilty to theft.

Cary Shaun Peterman, from London, was accused of stealing a microwave oven, quilt and two pillows valued at Lm85 to the detriment of Edwin Bonnici.

The Briton was renting the property from which the goods went missing.

Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted.
