Obituary

CAMILLERI. On August 13, at St Luke's Hospital, MICHELINA, of Dingli, aged 90, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Mary and her husband Tony Abela, Natalie and her husband Joe Attard, Fr Louis Camilleri, former director of the Cana Movement, Helen and her husband Ernest Taliana, Paul Galea, widower of her daughter Carmen, Grace and her husband Tony Dingli, Doris and her husband Salvu Sammut, Marcelle and her husband Joe Zerafa, Michael and his wife Carmen and Josette and her husband Paul Camilleri, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Dingli parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Dingli cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi and Cana Movement will be appreciated.

She leaves to mourn her sad loss her beloved children John and his wife Grace, Joe and his wife Maria, Sr Therese of the Augustinian Congregation, Carmen, Nicholas and his wife Annie, Paul and his wife Carmen, Sr Grazia of the Franciscan Order, Jackie and his wife Josephine and Angelo and his wife Rita, her grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Julians parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara will be appreciated. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

CESAREO. On August 12 at Casa Leone, St Julians, MARY, at the age of 98, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nephews and nieces Henry Agius and his wife May and family, Louis and his wife Vicky and family, Lilian and her husband Harry Appelqvist and family, Ann and Martin Cesareo, Randolph and his wife Marlene and family, other relatives and friends. A Mass for the repose of her soul will be said today at 10 a.m. at Casa Leone followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Casa Leone will be appreciated.

MAMO. On August 13, at St Luke's Hospital, FRANS, 62 of Marsa, former Maltapost employee, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria, his son Engelbert and his wife Ruth and their daughter Christina, his daughter Ruth, his sister Evelyn, widow of Julian Micallef, his nephews Paul and his wife Antoinette and their daughter Justine and Justin and his girlfriend Rosanne, in-laws, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 8.15 a.m. for the Maria Regina parish church of Marsa where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

SAMMUT. We would like to announce the death of our beloved ANDREW from Zurrieq, at the age of 70, which happened on August 13. DRAGO - Cav. ALFONSO DRAGO, SMOM, A&CE, late Superintendent of Public Works. Went to meet the Risen Lord on the eve of the Assumption of Our Lady, Mother of God on August 14, 1935. Seventy one years from his demise, his image is still very vivid in our memories. Godwin, Gladys, Wilfred.

XERRI - Sr ELISE, MC, (Anna). Today the eighth anniversary of her meeting with the Risen Lord.

Your sweet perfume,
We can see you smile
And hear you say . . .
"Do not cry".

So very sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, Fr John Xerri, OP, of Rome, Carmen and Salvu, Antoinette and Tony, Joe and Debbie of Wales, Lizzie and Stephen and Maria and Alfred and her beloved nephews and nieces.

Music Courses

The Renaissance Cultural Foundation - Malta will be presenting Mozartfest between October 9 and 14, which will include an art exhibition, lectures and seminars, chamber concerts, an opera production and also music master courses.

The master courses will be concluded with a participants' concert at St James Cavalier, in Valletta, on October 14.

The courses will be delivered by Siegfried Mauser on the piano, Thomas Bauer, voice, Irmela Bossler, flute, Diethelm Kuehn, clarinet and Gottfried Schneider, violin.

The master courses will be hosted at St James Cavalier and Palazzo de la Salle, in Valletta. They are intended for music students of different levels and professional musicians. Applicants may opt for active or passive participation.

Application forms are available from St James Cavalier, Palazzo de la Salle and the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts. Closing date is September 10.

Sound Of Music

A group of young entertainers will be performing the Sound of Music at the Garden of Serenity, in Sta Lucija, on August 19 and August 20.

Daniela Psaila, a piano teacher, came up with idea for her students together with members of a local choir and a group of dancers.

Maria Zahra, a musician and dancing teacher, and Keith and Leanne of Vogue Dancers are assisting. The production is being recorded in the studio of Steve Attard.

Entrance is free and tickets can be obtained form the Sta Lucija local council and Fusco Hairdressing Salon in Sta Lucija.

Sports Club Mass

Fr Hilary Tagliaferro will celebrate an open air Mass at the St Julians Aquatic Sport Club on August 22 at 9 p.m. on the occasion of the feast of St Julians.

All youths and sportsmen and women are invited.

Underwater Clean-Ups

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors and Project Aware Foundation will be coordinating underwater clean-ups on September 16.

Project Aware is raising awareness on the needless dumping of debris that is prevalent in many areas and encourages local communities to care for the aquatic sites. Volunteers will be recording and photographing the rubbish they collect.
