At the annual meeting of ICOMOS Malta held in Zejtun, a new Maltese National Committee for the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS Malta) has been elected. The new president is Dr Ray Bondin while the vice president is Prof. Anthony Bonanno. Shirley Cefai is secretary and Dr David Mallia is treasurer, while the other members are Ruben Abela, Dr Joann Cassar and Dr Nicholas Vella.

During the annual meeting held in Zejtun the ICOMOS members, representing the most important conservators and restorers on the island, listened to talks from Ruben Abela on the history of St Nicholas Church in Zejtun while Norbert Gatt spoke about the restoration project in hand.

ICOMOS represents over 8,000 members of restorers and conservators from more than 100 countries. Dr Ray Bondin is the founder of ICOMOS.
