I have followed Mr Edward Torpiano's statements about the Valletta Waterfront - the commercial name chosen by the VISET Consortium to its activity as a sea passenger terminal - suggesting that the name be changed to Valletta Floriana Waterfront.

I remember the pathetic times during the Mintoff days when no-one was allowed to use the words "Malta", "National", or "Nazzjon". We now have proposals to include, rather than exclude, names to business activities. What hilarious suggestions!

Does this mean that we will now have a Bank of Valletta-Floriana in the BoV Floriana Branch? Can this extend to HSBC, with its branch in Tarxien being named Hong Kong Shanghai Tarxien Banking Corporation?  

With the Malta Maritime Authority moving soon to Marsa, will all ships registered in Malta, carrying the Malta Flag, and with the name Valletta on the stern have it repainted to Marsa?
