A 23-year-old man was yesterday charged with the possession of heroin, cocaine, cannabis and amphetamine.

Magistrate Michael Mallia heard Clayton Azzopardi, of Tarxien, plead not guilty to the possession of 60 grammes of heroin and 20 grammes of cocaine in circumstances denoting it was not for his personal use. He was also charged with the simple possession of cannabis and amphetamine.

Mr Azzopardi was granted bail against a Lm1,000 deposit and a personal guarantee of Lm500.

Police Inspector Pierre Grech prosecuted. Lawyer Franco Debono was defence counsel.
