Maltese and Britons alike who were outraged by letters in The Times which questioned the validity of the "our" George Cross on "our" Maltese flag, should know that in Maltese we have a proverb which says "Hanqa ta' hmar qatt ma telghet is-sema". (A donkey's braying never made it to heaven).

I wonder why this waste of valuable newspaper space just to show that we do not share these sentiments.

There will always be those who think that their beliefs are God-given. Best ignore them!
