A 40-year-old man was yesterday charged with using violence against his former wife and their 13-year-old daughter, who now live in a shelter, and causing them to live in fear.
The man pleaded not guilty to using violence to force his ex-wife and their daughter to do his bidding and threatening them over the past years.
He was also charged with causing them to fear that violence would be used against them and with assaulting and slightly injuring his daughter.
The man was granted bail on condition he does not approach the mother and daughter and bound by a Lm500 deposit and a personal guarantee of Lm5,000.
His name is not being published by court order to protect the identity of the minor.
Magistrate Anthony Vella presided over the case.
