Producing some superb tennis, veteran Gordon Asciak won the men's singles title at the VLTC Perrier Summer Open 2006.
Facing Darryl Delicata in the final, Asciak cruised to the title by winning in straight sets, 6-0 6-2.
Asciak had a strong start in the first set, showing some deft touches, reminiscent of his days as the undisputed top player in Malta.
In the second set, Delicata tried desperately to stage a comeback but Asciak stuck to his powerful game to take the set 6-2 and this year's event's honours.
The women's singles final pitted Sanya Jukic against Elaine Genovese. Jukic was unstoppable in the first set, winning 6-0.
Genovese tried to hit back but her efforts were not enough to stop Jucik closing out the match after winning the second set 7-5.
In the men's doubles final, Delicata brothers, Marcus and Darryl, subdued the challenge of young duo Simon Camilleri and Matthew Borg 6-4, 6-1.
In the men's plate event, Brad-ley Callus beat Suniel Balani 6-3 6-1.
