Pure breed Husky found abandoned
Would you abandon such a beautiful creature?
So when Alfred Fenech of the Abandoned Animals Association (AAA) was told about an abandoned Husky lying on the doorstep of a house at Pembroke on Sunday he reckoned that it must have got lost and that its owner was looking for it.
It is not a common occurrence that such a fine breed of dog is abandoned - they cost in the region of Lm600, Mr Fenech said.
The pure breed Husky is four months old and very docile. Mr Fenech said that if its owner did not collect it in a few days, the dog would be offered for homing. However, its new home should be air conditioned in view of the fact that this breed are accustomed to cold weather.
Mr Fenech can be contacted on 7929 7930 or 9946 4182.
Meanwhile last weekend the AAA inoculated 180 dogs which had not yet been protected from disease through the services of veterinarian Trevor Zammit and a team of 12 volunteers. The AAA's sanctuary has around 225 dogs in its care.
Mr Fenech said that this operation, which lasted over six hours, cost the association hundreds of Maltese liri.
Another animal welfare association, Noah's Ark, offered its support to the AAA for the inoculation.
