A reader who lives close to Maghtab phoned in yesterday evening complaining there was a huge fire at the dump.

The blaze was causing an incredible stench and a plume of smoke. Visitors and tourists in the neighbourhood, particularly Bugibba, Qawra and St Paul's Bay, were unhappy with the consequences, especially those who wanted to spend an enjoyable evening by the sea.
