Thank you Mr Ambassador

My wife and I would like to thank publicly Mr Walter Balzan, Malta's Ambassador to Austria.

On July 28, our 15-year-old son was travelling from Vienna to Hungary for a ten-day training camp with three other fencers. Unfortunately, in one of the underground stations, he lost a small bag containing his passport and air ticket. We contacted Mr Balzan and requested his assistance. Immediately, Mr Balzan and his staff began to communicate with the relevant authorities, including the Malta passport office.

Thanks to all concerned, within a few hours, my son was on his way back to Hungary with three emergency passports (Austria-Hungary, Hungary-Austria, Austria-Malta).

Had it not been for Mr Balzan, my son would have been stuck in Vienna for at least a weekend. Not only was the Ambassador very helpful, but during this worrying time, he was also in close contact with us to reassure us.

What an exemplary ambassador - thank you once again.
