For the seventh consecutive year, the Appogg agency in conjunction with the Tavistock Portsman NHS Trust, will again be offering the post-graduate courses in Applied Systemic Theory (Certificate and Diploma courses) in the academic year 2006-2007.
These courses are aimed at psychologists, social workers, general practitioners, psychiatrists, guidance teachers, counsellors, psychotherapists and nurses. Training will provide participants with new ways to understand family dynamics and explore alternative approaches to family situations. Family therapy is about overcoming stumbling blocks together, as a family.
For the past 10 years, the Family Therapy Service of the Appogg agency, in collaboration with the Tavistock clinic, UK, has been at the forefront in organising training courses in the subject. These courses represent the agency's commitment to continuous training of its staff and other professionals.
A meeting for those interested in the introductory course is to be held in the Training Room (fourth floor) at the Appogg premises, 36, St Luke's Road, Guardangia, on Wednesday at 5 p.m. A separate meeting for Diploma students will be held on the same day at 6. The venue is accessible by wheelchair.
Those interested are to send an e-mail with name, surname and telephone number to natasha.a. camilleri@gov.mt or call Natasha Camilleri on 2295-9183 on Tuesdays from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
