We cannot let Mrs Rita Borg take advantage of a frail 68-year-old lady just like that. This is the fourth week we are dealing with this case and we will keep asking Mrs Borg to return Ms Fenech's Lm40 with interest for as long as it will take. Here is Mrs Mariella Mifsud's (Ms Marie Fenech's niece) third letter dated July 30 which was sent to Mrs Borg and copied in to myself:
It is with much pleasure that I note that there are positively concluded cases and certain shops on this island do care about their customers.
This is very much unlike International Sales Direct, who after grabbing my aunt's money (Lm40), couldn't care less. They are under the impression that, as time went by, and during which time no-one asked for this money, my aunt cannot ask them for it, as the Lm40 now belongs to ISD. Whoever reads this column and this case, can make an opinion for himself.
Again, one might understand that some cases might be 'forgotten' (as the lady on the telephone insisted last time I phoned), but these cannot be ignored forever. My aunt did not forget about the gentleman promising her that he would phone her up about the Lm40. He was surely talking on behalf of ISD.
Again, through your column, I ask Ms Borg, managing director of ISD, Qormi, to co-operate. I am not asking for anything which does not belong to my aunt, and I therefore expect the Lm40 to be returned to my aunt with interest. Otherwise I have no option but to keep sending similar letters to the attention of ISD and all The Sunday Times readers.
Thank you very much for your help. These cases are really worth sharing. Thank you. (Mariella Mifsud)
As usual, since evidently our first three appeals did not register, we have no other option but to continue indulging in repetition. For what it's worth, in doing so, more consumers will get to know about Ms Borg of ISD and her policies with a particular focus on "Non-returnable deposits".
