The Malta Environment and Planning Authority determined 845 applications in July and received 609 new applications.

The authority processed 107 notifications of development which did not require a formal application. Fifty-eight stop and enforcement notices were issued.

Thirty-one enforcement cases were closed, 18 were sanctioned by the issue of a sanctionable permit, while another nine cases were resolved when the owners decided to remove illegal developments and comply with the enforcement notice.

During the same month, four cases were withdrawn by Mepa and 16 cases were received and resolved at the Complaints Office without the need of enforcement action, as the owners complied with instructions given by Mepa enforcement officers.
