My wife was diagnosed with coeliac disease two years ago. The professor at that time filled in the necessary paperwork so she could start collecting food items free from the government.
To buy, for example, 10 slices of gluten-free bread costs about Lm1.80 apart from other items such as pasta, flour and biscuits, so one can imagine how high the bill would be if we had to buy them ourselves.
Unfortunately, for the past three months, in spite of going to the doctor to fill in the necessary forms and wasting time at the Mosta clinic, nothing has been available. It is totally unfair that for three months we have had to buy the necessities on a minimum wage.
I really hope that this matter will be resolved as soon as possible and we will start receiving what is ours as we used to in the past.
