The National Republican Alliance has urged the public to boycott a peace event being organised by Graffitti and Alternattiva Zghazagh in Sliema this evening.

While the event purportedly calls for peace in the Middle East, it was clear that the event organisers had no intention of taking an unbiased stand, ANR said.

In its promotion of the event, Graffitti and Alternattiva said: "It is wholly absurd that Israel inflicts death and damage on the Lebanese because they have failed to control their territory sufficiently."

The organisers also ask the EU to take "whatever action is necessary to ensure that reparations are made by the aggressor as determined by an international tribunal".

ANR asked why Israel is being portrayed as the aggressor when, in reality, it is only exercising its right to self-defence from rocket attacks launched by Hizbollah.
