Call to end ME crisis

The STOPoverty! Neqirdu l-Faqar! Campaign is insisting for initiatives by the government and the international community to end the Middle East crisis.

The campaign called on the EU and the UN to take a clear stand condemning breaches of international law and to activate the existing mechanisms, namely the provisions of the EU-Israeli Association Agreement and the Fourth Geneva Convention, in order to bring about an urgent and immediate international ruling to impose a ceasefire and to enable effective transfer of humanitarian aid to the needy.

The campaign involves 44 Maltese civil society and non-governmental organisations and is part of the Global Call To Action Against Poverty (GCAP).

STOPoverty said that it is only by respecting the right of self-determination that Israel and Palestine can find a way out of this conflict and, hopefully, live in an atmosphere of real peace.
