Obituary

BONNICI. On July 25 in Tunisia, Fr ALEXANDER BONNICI OFM Conv, aged 70, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren of the Franciscan Order, his sisters Mercedes Micallef and her children Charlie and his wife Rita, Sylvana and her husband Alfred, Alysia Borg, Samuel and Romina, Alexander and Maria; Maria Victoria Coleiro and her children Emanuel, Carmen and her husband Charles Mercieca and John; Stella and her husband Reno Abela and their children Sally Ann, Sachann, Darren and his wife Michaela, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 7.30 a.m. for the Sanctuary of St Francis church, Rabat, where mourners will be able to pay their last respects to Fr Bonnici. The funeral will proceed at 9 a.m., to St Paul's parish church, Rabat where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Addolorata cemetery.
No flowers by request but donations to the Franciscan Missions in India will be appreciated.

MALLIA. On July 29, MARY, aged 67, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Frankie, her daughter Annette and her husband Claudio Coppini, her daughter Rachel, her brothers Philip and his wife Doris, Carmelo and his wife Frida, Emanuel and his wife Antoinette, Tarcisio and his wife Claudia, her sisters Grace, widow of Louis Cassar, Angela, wife of Emanuel Demanuele, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St James Hospital, Sliema, tomorrow at 7.15 a.m. for the Zebbug parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 7.45 a.m. followed by interment at Zebbug cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

MONTEBELLO. On July 30, CARMEN (widow of George ex-RSM Malta Police) aged 65, passed peacefully away at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church.
She leaves to mourn her great loss her son Brian and his wife Josephine, her daughter Paulanne and her husband Patrick Mamo, her sister Helen and her husband Vince Farrugia, in-laws, her beloved grandchildren Eleanor, Bianca, Bernard and Roberta, her aunt Sr Eufrosina Portelli of the Dominican sisters, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for Sta Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to the Dar tal-Providenza, in Siggiewi, and the Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated.
Lord grant her eternal rest. In Christ we believe and in Him we fulfil.

SAMMUT. On July 30, at St Vincent De Paul, ROSE MARIE née Darmanin, of Sliema, aged 72, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Emmanuel, her children Charles and his wife Desirée, Mario and his wife Jacqueline, Jennifer and her husband Alton and their children Kyle and Maxine, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

The funeral leaves St Vincent De Paul tomorrow at 9 a.m. for Balluta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

Poezijaplus is collaborating with YTC to organise an evening featuring established and new singers at Café Deux Baronnes, in Valletta, today at 7.30 p.m.

Walter Micallef, Augusto Cadinali, Mark Spiteri Lucas, Rita Pace, Manwel Mifsud, Mario Debono and Teddy Zammit, Shannon Muscat, Sandro Cassar, Isabelle Zammit Bianca Casha, Louanne Caruana, Francesca Zarb, She2s, Merga, Dario and Grecia Bezzina and Charles Dalli will be in attendance.

The Maltese Association of Astronomy will also be present and will be inviting the public to use a telescope to have a closer look at the planet Jupiter and the moon.
