Marriages

Mr JASON BUGEJA, BA (Gen.), PGCE Dip. CS Ed. and Miss ANTONELLA CORDINA, B.Pharm. (Hons) The marriage took place on July 15 at the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, between JASON, son of Angelo and Maria Bugeja of Mgarr, and ANTONELLA, daughter of Victor and Josephine Cordina of Zejtun. Mass was celebrated by Fr Joseph Fsadni. The marriage was witnessed by Ms Catherine Palmier Cecy for the bride, and Mr Mario Bugeja for the groom. The bride was attended by her sister, Dr Claudia Fsadni, MD, MRCP (UK), her cousin, Ms Mariosa Bonnici and Ms Emma Bugeja. Dr Peter Fsadni, MD, MRCP (UK), was best man and Mr Renzo Cordina was usher. A reception was held at Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar. The bride and groom are spending their honeymoon in the United States and Canada.

Mr ALEKSANDER PREMUS, B.Eng. (Hons) and Ms MIREILLE TREEBY, B.Sc. (Hons) The marriage took place on July 21 at Naxxar parish church between ALEKSANDER, son of Marijan and Stanka Premus of Ormoz, Slovenia, and MIREILLE, daughter of John and Yvonne Treeby of Naxxar. Mass was celebrated by Fr Gordon Refalo. The ceremony was witnessed by Mrs Isabelle Mallia, the bride's aunt, and Mr Nikola Premus, the groom's brother. Mr Primoz Malavasic was best man. The bride was attended by her sister, Ms Greta Treeby, while Miss Maryana Simpson was flower-girl and Master Matthew Crockford was ring-bearer. A reception was later held at Villa Oriana, Buskett. The couple are taking up residence in Slovenia and will spend their honeymoon in Thailand.

Mr SANDRO ROSSI, B.Sc. Nurs. (Hons), MA (Kent) and Ms CHRISTINE SAMMUT, B.Psych. (Hons), BA Theol. and Human Stud. The marriage took place on July 29 at the Jesuits' church, Valletta, between SANDRO, son of Arthur S. and Silvia Rossi of Valletta, and CHRISTINE, daughter of Alfred P. and Grace Sammut of Mosta. Mass was celebrated by Fr Vincent Magri, SJ, assisted by Deacon Michael Bugeja, SJ. Fr Jimmy Bartolo, SJ, Fr Joseph Buhagiar, Fr Paul Chetcuti, SJ, Fr John Sammut and Fr Salvinu Sammut, SJ, co-celebrated the Mass. The sacrament of marriage was witnessed by Dr Ludvic Caruana, BA, LL.D., MA, and Dr Maria Victoria Sammut, MD, M.Sc., DCH. Mr Marco Rossi carried out the duties of best man. Mr Emmanuel Grech and Mr Joseph Rossi were ushers. Ms Francesca Rossi was bridesmaid and Masters Daniel and Alan Grech were pageboys. A reception was later held at Olive Gardens, Rabat.

Obituary

GENOVESE. On July 28, at St Luke's Hospital, JOSEPH L. GENOVESE, A&CE, aged 80, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his wife Mima née Galea, his daughters Cynthia, Claire and her fiancé Victor, his brother Saviour, his sisters Lina, wife of Joseph Schembri and Louise, widow of Paul Sammut Alessi, his sister-in-law Lina, widow of his brother Paul, nephews and nieces, among whom Dr Jacqueline and her husband Dr Adrian Padovani, relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral took place yesterday. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

MUSCAT. On July 26, FRANCES née Caruana of Marsa, widow of Joseph, aged 83, passed away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her only beloved daughter Maria, her brothers and sisters Annie, Renzo and his wife Nazja, Edwin and his wife Carmen of Australia, Joseph and his wife Nina, and Mary, widow of Gaetano Cauchi, nephews and nieces, besides other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere was said last Friday at Holy Trinity parish church, Marsa. May the Lord Jesus Christ grant her eternal rest.
