First cycle lanes along Coast Road

The Malta Transport Authority has introduced the first cycle lanes along the Coast Road, from the Swieqi traffic light junction to the St Paul's Bay traffic light junction.

Over the coming months, a model shift to public transport use, cycling and walking will be promoted.

The traffic lights junction at St Paul's Bay will be redesigned to ensure cyclists' safety. The section at the junction designated for cyclists will be marked in green, the ADT said.

Cyclists are required to wear the appropriate gear, including a cycling helmet, cycling gloves, and reflective clothing especially at night. Bicycles should be equipped with reflectors.
