Tongue twisters

Karm Farrugia from Madliena was quick to correct a Cabinet minister for using the word "devaluated" (July 21). I did not read the minister's piece and therefore do not know in which context "devaluated" was used but if I may assume that Mr Farrugia is suggesting that the word devaluated is a corruption of the word devalued then he is incorrect. Devalued is a verb and devaluated is the noun. But I did come across a real good slip recently.

It was a nice picture of the big traffic island (or roundabout?) at Mellieha with a caption describing it as "the entrance to Mellieha". Surely they meant the approach to Mellieha.
