ATTARD. On July 24, at her residence in Zebbug, Rosaria, aged 79, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Philip and his wife Carmen, Saviour, widower of Marthese, Carmelo and his wife Connie, Anthony and his wife Rita, her daughters Grace and her husband Angelo Zerafa, Tessie and her husband Joe Cassar, Josephine and her husband Charlie Azzopardi, Cettina and her husband Carmelo Camilleri, M'Rose and her husband Philip Zammit, and Rita and her husband Joe Grech, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sisters and brothers, her in-laws relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves her residence today at 3.15 p.m. for St Philip parish church, Zebbug, where a Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Zebbug. No flowers by request but donation to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated.
Lord grant her eternal rest.

LUCAS. On July 24, at St Luke's Hospital, geoffrey, Pierre Horton, of Msida, aged 86, widower of Megan, passed peacefully away. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Caryl and her son Oli, his brother John and his wife Barbara, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday at 3 p.m. for service and burial to be held at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery at 3.30 p.m. (Entrance through the back gate).
No flowers by request but donations in favour of the Malta Hospice Movement, 39, Good Shepherd Avenue, Balzan BZN07 shall be appreciated. May he rest in peace.

He leaves to mourn his loss his son Francis and his wife Maria, his daughter Evelyn widow of Julian Micallef, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother and sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gzira where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

SCERRI. On July 24, at her residence in St Julians, IRIS, aged 75, passed peacefully away. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Kurt and his wife Angela, Alton and his wife Jennifer, her grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

Arts council logo competition

The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts has launched a public competition for the design of its new logo.

The new design must communicate the council's mission: to promote Malta's culture through all forms of art, to increase the accessibility of the public to the arts and to enhance Malta's cultural heritage both locally and abroad.

Designs must be suitable for colour or monochrome production and easy to produce in digital and printed form. Applicants may submit more than one original entry.

Every submission must be made in a separate e-mail and sent to newlogo@maltaculture.com with the subject line "New logo" or by post to New Logo, 230, Republic Street, Valletta, in colour and black and white as jpeg or PDF images in low resolution. The winning entry will become the council's property.

The winner will receive Lm200 worth of books, an honourable mention and exposure in the press and on the council's website. The closing date is August 20 and the winning entry will be announced online on www.maltaculture.com on August 31.
