Hold-up on security firm employee

Over Lm2,000 were stolen in a hold-up on an employee of the security firm Group 4 as he was leaving the offices next to the Fortina Hotel, in Tigné late yesterday morning.

Two hooded armed thieves assaulted the security man before he could reach the security van at about 11.15 a.m.

Police sources said the theft was similar in style to the one on a Tower Supermarket employee on July 19. About Lm10,000 were stolen from the supermarket employee who was on her way to deposit money at HSBC Sliema High Street branch, a few metres away from the her place of work.

The police are investigating.
