Faulty cable leads to power cuts

A faulty cable in Zejtun led to power cuts in parts of Marsascala and in parts of Zejtun last Saturday afternoon, Enemalta said.

Immediate steps were taken to identify the fault and to restore power in the shortest time possible. The fault was in fact rectified.

Enemalta said parts of Marsascala experienced other power cuts as a result of cable faults over the past few weeks.

Works to upgrade the Marsascala distribution centre were underway and new cables were planned to be laid in the new Delimara - Marsacala underground tunnel upon its completion. Such works were expected to be finished by November.

Enemalta regrets any inconvenience caused.
