Malta captured three medals in the pool, one silver and two bronze. The 13-year-old Pace underlined her potential when finishing third to take bronze in the 200m freestyle.
Francesca Paolella's strong performance in the 50m breaststroke rewarded her with a silver medal after finishing second in 35.64, a new national record. Paolella's time eclipsed the previous national mark of 35.76 set by Stephanie Schranz back in 1997.
Malta's other bronze medal was won in the 4x100m relay for girls.
Daniel Galea, 13, set a new age-group record in the 50m breast when clocking 36.36.
Athlete Francesca Xuereb ran 47.49 in the 300m hurdles to land a silver medal. Alessandra Pace finished third in the long jump to secure bronze. Her best effort was measured at 5.13 metres.
