It's absolutely true: the tyranny of relativism brings on the socialisation of evil. I know it from my own experience: God's love lifted me out of a very bad conscience. I agree with the new Pope: Eros and Agape can come together again in man.
As he says, God is love. But is love God? I think man and woman experience love in the happiness of goodness, facing anew in the beauty of forgiveness. Here we discover the merciful nature of God Himself.
So we do well to reject the forlorn, sinful relationships people mistakenly try to engage in together. Better to see how innocence can be reborn, and how the pure of heart from apparent losers become the true winners. Love is indeed God, because in Christ's sacrifice as a man we participate in his nature as God.
So a man of faith has strength to live through secular crises by finding the image of the Holy Trinity itself - Deus Caritas Est. It is possible for the modern state to accept as its sacrosanct duty the recognition of the true nature of the family in modern life.
The time is coming for our culture to reject divorce, as Christ did, and in welcoming the birth of all children, share this rediscovery worldwide in a civilisation of love through dialogue.
