Last Sunday Victoria celebrated the feast of St George. This year there was an important observation that merits praise.

On July 25, 2004 in The Sunday Times, I suggested that both La Stella Band Club and Leone Band Club should include female band members, something that was not done due to various reasons. Only these two band clubs in Gozo were not including women in their bands.

It is interesting to note that last Sunday the La Stella Band Club had one female band member in the procession. More women should be encouraged to join.

The Leone Band Club can also follow suit.
