¤ Sannat celebrates the feast of St Margarita today. Bishop Mario Grech leads a pontifical concelebrated Mass at 9 a.m. The Missa in honorem S. Margaritae by Mro Charles Camilleri will be performed.
Marches will be played in the streets at 11; traditional horse and donkey races will be held at 2 p.m.
Mgr Lawrence Sciberras leads solemn vespers at 6.30. He then leads the procession, accompanied by the Santa Margerita Band, at 7.45. The La Stella Band gives a concert on St Margarita Square.
The procession ends with a Eucharistic celebration at 10. Festivities end with marches by the Ite ad Joseph Band at 10.30.
¤ A seminar entitled 'The Encyclical: God is Love', led by Bishop Emeritus Mgr Nikol Cauchi and Mgr Anton Borg, will be held at Manresa House, Victoria, on Tuesday at 6 p.m. To attend call the parish office on 2155-6087 or 2155-4101.
¤ The July poetry on Gozo's 102nd gathering will be held at St Martin Cavalier Bastion at the Citadel, Victoria, on Wednesday from 8.30 p.m. People are free to read their original poetry in any language. An English translation, however, would be appreciated.
¤ A Diocesan Marian Manifestation will be held in Marsalforn on Tuesday from 7 p.m. The public is requested to be seated along the promenade at the centre of the bay, where an animated Rosary with hymns and a testimonial will be recited. Concelebrated Mass, led by Bishop Mario Grech, will follow.
¤ Radju Lehen il-Qala marks its tenth anniversary with concelebrated Mass, led by Qala archpriest Mgr Dr Joe Zammit, on Tuesday, at 7 p.m. A special schedule of radio programmes has been drawn up for the day. A 'Praise Festival', led by Andrew Cauchi and Fr Karm Debattisa, MSSP, will be held on the main square at 8 p.m.
¤ The feast of St Anne will be celebrated in Dwejra Bay, San Lawrenz, on Wednesday.
Bishop Mario Grech will say Mass in the chapel dedicated to the saint at 5 p.m. The Kor Levita Laurentius will participate.
At 7.30, Zebbug archpriest Fr Noel Zammit will lead the presentation of babies.
Fontana parish priest Fr George Bezzina then leads an open-air Mass outside the chapel at 8.30, followed by a prayer meeing.
¤ The new bronze monuments of Pope Pius IX, Pope John Paul II and the Ave Maria Chime will be arriving in Gozo on Thursday. Parishioners will gather at Mgarr harbour at 7 p.m. where a carcade leaves for Victoria, accompanied for the latter part of the journey by the Leone Band.
The inauguration ceremony and blessing of the monuments and the chime will be held on the Cathedral Square on Friday at 7.30 p.m. The Leone Band Club will also participate.
¤ Qala parish church will hold an activity for young people and a barbeque on the parish square on Friday at 8.30 p.m.
Ikla tan-Nanna, a revival of traditional Gozitan food and folklore, will be held by Ta' Klula Folklore Foundation on Santa Lucija's main square, on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. Free transport from and to Mgarr ferries. For tickets at Lm10 phone 7979-2906 or e-mail taklula@santalucija.com.
¤ The Gozo Philatelic Society is holding a meeting for members and friends at Victoria Scouts Headquarters on Sunday from 9 to 11 p.m. Entrance is free.
¤ The San Lawrenz Festival on the main square kicks off today with games for youths at 5.30 p.m. All other events start at 9 p.m.
Tomorrow evening, the CATS Group will be performing various numbers from musicals like Jesus Christ Super Star, Godspel, Beauty and The Beast, Phantom of the Opera, Chess and My Fair Lady. There will also be a magician.
On Tuesday there will be folk music by some of the best Maltese and Gozitan artists, including Patrick Vella from Germany, Mabbli Camilleri, Jesmond Galea, il-Pikkolin, Fredu of Australia, Fredu Abela and Ir-Ragett, and Mario (il-Bubajs), Ta' Cangura and the San Lawrenz Folk Group. The compere is Charles Coleiro.
On Wednesday, there will be a barbeque with music from Radio Calypso DJ John Muscat. For tickets at Lm3.25 (children Lm2) call 7927-5637.
An evening of entertainment, with the participation of Keith Camilleri, Pamela, Anna Belle and Clif will be held on Thursday. There will also be dance performances and a comedy session with Hector Bruno. The Palma tad-Deheb award will also be presented to the best singer during the event.
