At the Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Federation's congress held in Melbourne, Julian Pace Bonello, president of the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association (MTBA), was re-elected as president of the Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Federation (CTBF).

The congress was attended by all 16 Commonwealth nations that were present in Melbourne for the III Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships: Australia, Bahamas, Brunei, Canada, Cyprus, England, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey, India, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Pace Bonello has held this post since the CTBF was created in 2002 and was previously the chairperson for the Commonwealth Affairs Committee of the World Tenpin Bowling Association.

The main aim of the CTBF is to get tenpin bowling re-introduced as a sport within the official programme of the Commonwealth Games.

In 2004, tenpin bowling was included in the schedule of the II Commonwealth Youth Games held in Bendigo, Australia.
