Bulgarian striker Valeri Bojinov said he jumped at the chance to join Juventus on loan even though he will be playing in Serie B after a sports tribunal found the Turin club guilty of match-fixing.

"When I found out Juventus wanted me I said yes straight away without even thinking for a minute," the 20-year-old striker was quoted as saying on Juve's website.

"This team is as big as it gets for any player. It's the biggest chance of my life. I want to show I deserve it by taking Juventus back to the top - back to winning Serie A titles and playing in the Champions League."

Bojinov, who joined Lecce from Maltese club Pietà Hotspurs as a teenager and is now considered one of the most exciting young strikers in Italy, was signed on July 8 by Juve on loan from Fiorentina.

A few days later a sports tribunal ordered Juve to start next season in the second-tier Serie B with 30 points deducted.

Fiorentina were also relegated to the second tier after the match-fixing trial with minus 12 points.

Asked whether Juventus would find life easy in Serie B, Bojinov replied: "We will have to expect teams to close up against us.

"The thing that will make the biggest difference will be our approach to those matches.

"If we stay concentrated we can beat anyone. For now, however, it's all just talk. What counts is what happens on the pitch."
