Conditional discharge

Briton Robert Brown, 24, was yesterday conditionally discharged for one year after pleading guilty to violently resisting and assaulting five police officers at Mellieha on the night of July 12.

He also pleaded guilty to disobeying police orders.

Prosecuting Inspector Therese Sciberras said the accused was drunk at the time.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna considered that the accused had filed a guilty plea at a very early stage.

Lawyer Patrick Valentino was defence counsel.
