The director of the Islands and Small States Institute at the University of Malta, Lino Briguglio, is visiting a number of Caribbean small states to conduct a consultation process on behalf of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

During his visit, he will meet with the Prime Minister of Barbados, Owen Arther, and the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas, as well as other officials.

The consultation exercise relates to the strategy small states should adopt in the face of the globalisation process as well as the establishment of a small states network proposed by the Maltese government and will come up for discussion at the forthcoming small states forum to be held in Singapore this coming September.
