Obituary

ATTARD. On July 15, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, REGINALD SAVIOUR RICHARD, aged 81, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Catholic Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his life-long everloving, devoted and beloved wife Clara Liliana née Demajo, his children John, Maria, Michael, Paul, Helen, Eileen and Anne, and their respective spouses and partners, his grandchildren Roberta and her husband Mark, Joanna and her husband Romeo, Paula-Antonia and her husband Anthony, Paul, Pamela, Vanessa, Keith, Kevin, Mark, Rhian, Luigino, Ruth, Joseph, Michael, Cristina, Reginald, Kurt, Jade, Claire and Susanna, his great-grandchildren Gabriel, Anthony, Cristella and Isaac, his brother Joe and his family in Australia, and his sister Iris Garroni and her family in Malta, his in-laws, other relatives and friends in Malta and abroad.
The funeral leaves Capua St James Hospital, Sliema, for Gharghur parish church on Wednesday at 1.30 p.m. where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.15 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to charity will be greatly appreciated.
Lord grant him eternal peace.

DUCA. On July 15, CARMELO, aged 93, of Guardamangia, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Madalena, née Buhagiar, his children Erika and her husband David Piscopo, Dimitrio, Joseph and his wife Josephine, Joe Vella, widower of his daughter Antoinette, grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 1.45 p.m. for Our Lady of Fatima parish church, Guardamangia, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2 p.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.

GATT. On July 16, at St James Hospital, JOHN (of Howards Travel), residing in San Pawl tat-Targa, aged 62, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Simone née Ferrante, his treasured children Michael and his wife Sabrina née Caruana and his daughter Louise, his adored grandson Sean, his cherished mother Grace, widow of Alfred Gatt, his brother Edgar and his wife Diana, his father-in-Law Frank Ferrante, his brothers and sisters-in-law Bernard and his wife Mariella, Lorraine and her husband Denis Formosa, Philip and his wife Angela, Martine and her husband Nigel Ellul, nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

She leaves to mourn her loss her children John, Alex, Louis, Paul and Louise, their spouses Grace, Margaret, Bridgitte, Anna and Manuel respectively, her sister Mary Gerada, her grandchildren James, Elaine, Alexia, Celia, Michael, Marc, Simone, Mark and Bridget, great-grandchildren nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord grant her eternal rest.

Selmun Hill Partly Closed

Due to maintenance works being carried out along Selmun Hill, in Mellieha, traffic through a number of streets will be affected on Wednesday and Thursday between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Traffic from Mellieha going through Louis Wettinger, L-Izbark Tal-Francizi, Il-Kbira and Selmun streets towards St Paul's Bay will be diverted towards Mizieb, which is being turned into a one-way street temporarily. Public transport and heavy vehicles will not be affected.

Traffic from St Paul's Bay towards Mellieha and Ghajn Tuffieha will flow unaffected through Il-Pwales Bay up to Selmun Hill.

Traffic from San Martin Area and Ghajn Tuffieha will move through Il-Pwales Bay then to Mellieha.

London Chamber Exams

Candidates sitting for the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Series 4 2006 examinations should submit their application forms between July 31 and August 11 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Maltese candidates are to apply at the Examinations Department in Floriana while Gozitan candidates are to submit the application at the Examinations Centre, in Victoria. Applicants may also send their application online at www.exams.gov.mt between July 31 and August 13.

Other details such as fees and subjects available may be obtained from the Examinations Department in Floriana and Victoria, Gozo or from www.exams.gov.mt.

Msida/Ta' Xbiex Roads Closed

Traffic at the Ta' Xbiex seafront from the Msida church up to the junction with Abate Rigord Street will be closed on Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m.

The same stretch, as well as Testaferrata Street from the junction with Enrico Mizzi Street up to the junction with Rue d'Argens, will be closed to traffic on Sunday from 6 to 11 p.m.

The Malta Transport Authority said traffic will follow alternative routes during those hours.
