Robert Abela has been re-appointed chairman of the MaltaSong board by the Minister for Tourism and Culture.

The board falls under the umbrella of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts.

Mr Abela's stewardship had come under public scrutiny following Malta's last placing in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The deputy chairman is John Demanuele while the board members are Adrian Attard Trevisan, Steve Aquilina, Nadette Bugeja, Joseph Dalmas, Frans Fenech, Anton Miceli, Marbeck Spiteri and Mike Spiteri.

The board secretary is Martin Gauci.
