The World Heritage Sites In Malta 360° exhibition has been extended by a week to allow more people to view the stunning array of photographs depicting national monuments that have been declared World Heritage Sites by Unesco and others that are on a "tentative list".

The exhibition, at the Museum of Archaeology, Republic Street, Valletta, will now remain open up to July 22. It was mounted to coincide with the launching of the latest book by Miranda Publishers. The book, World Heritage Sites In Malta 360°, contains 360-degrees images of the three World Heritage sites in Malta: the capital city of Valletta, the megalithic temples and Hal Saflieni hypogeum.

Copies of the book (as well as other Miranda publications at discounted prices) are on sale at the exhibition. Also on sale is a special 2007 commemorative calendar depicting photographs from the book.

The latest publication is dedicated to the memory of Richard Aquilina, a friend of the publishers, who passed away earlier this year.

"We felt it our duty to extend the duration of the exhibition which, judging by the number of visitors over the past days, proves the Maltese are truly proud of their monuments. The number of foreign visitors on the other hand demonstrates that the island possesses world class and, indeed, unique attractions," Miranda's Eddie Aquilina said yesterday.

Mr Aquilina thanked HSBC Bank Malta, saying that without its support the exhibition could not have been held.

The exhibition is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
