A two-year-old pure breed boxer bitch is in need of a home.

The dog, named Mrs Jones, was found undernourished in the scorching sun, chained to the gate of the Abandoned Animals Association's sanctuary where it is currently being taken care of.

The AAA's Freddie Fenech said the dog is very friendly and quiet and with a little help and care, it will make a full recovery.

Currently, the AAA is raising awareness about abandoned animals at the Trade Fair Grounds in Naxxar. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays it has its own stand next to the Sliema Fortizza.
